new york advantages- great city, ethnic mix of patients- you can see patients of african american, white, asian, hispanics, south asian, arab amongst other backgrounds which will be good experience- in terms of not just dentistry but personality development- which is bound to bloom. faculty members too come from all ethnicities- good but busy faculty- finding time with them a bit challenging- , big class size so you might sneak through by studying less and not working hard unlike nova where class size is small and they monitor you to see every step as to how you are performing.
well I guess chair availibility, quality clinical experience, personal attention by faculty, florida warm climate and over all much cheaper costs might be nova advantages. the tuition fee of NYU is almost 21 thousand dollars more than nova( all three years included) and new york cost of living might come out an over all of 18 -20thousand dollars more than fort Lauderdale- so a total of 39-40 thousand saved- .
income of florida dentists (starting salary) is higher than new york due to excess /saturation and glut in new york - except rural areas of new york outside NY city where there is a need of dentists. florida is a big state with many major cities like jackonville, miami, tampa, F.lauderdale and gainsville - its like califoria but has just 2 dental schools -nova and gainsville- so ample opportunities to expand into general practice after graduation with some unbelieveably fentastic incomes, if you want to have a job there which you can unlike NY where you need a GPR to get a job.
But New York city is new york city- its like study and party everyday- you can study hard and party hard. Its just not study- its new york city, Braodway, fun and frolic- Its hard to judge which one is better. you have to decide it yourself.
