I have an interview with Nova this week and I am very excited. If anyone has any wisdom or advice, I would greatly appreciate it! Once I complete the interview, I will make sure to return the favor to those of you interviewing in the future. Thank you 🙂

Congrats on your interview! I'm sure you will do well. I had one a couple of weeks ago and the questions were pretty basic. Here are some that I remember
Why do you want to be an OT?
Why did you apply to this school?
Where do you see yourself in five years?
What skills will help you succeed in a difficult program?
Name a time when you solved a conflict
What position do you hold in group work
How do you feel about cultural diversity

Those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head. It lasted about 30 minutes and the interviewers made me feel very comfortable. Hope this helped. Good luck!

Congrats on the interview! How long after OTCAS verified did you receive a response? My app was just verified today.
Thanks

PNWgirl...my app was verified with OTCAS 10/29. Then I got an email from Nova to fill out the Supplemental application on 11/2. It was all filled out and processed by 11/7. I then received an email inviting me for my interview on 11/14. The next available interview time slot is 11/28 so that is when my interview is. Hope these timelines help you🙂 I know the waiting game sucks!

How long did it take OTCAS to verify your app

I submitted my OTCAS on 10/1 and they didn't verify it until 10/29. It took the full 4 weeks.

If you are accepted, how does anyone plan on paying to live in that area? it is so expensive

OT Hopeful- thanks so much for posting those questions, I just had my interview yesterday and they pretty much asked me every one of those. It was great to feel prepared🙂 The only additional questions they asked me were:

- What is your biggest weakness
- How do you feel you will fit in with students coming in to the entering class straight from their bachelors ( I got my bachelors degree in 2005 in an unrelated field)

No problem! Did they give you any indication of when you would hear back??

I was kind of nervous so I completely forgot to ask them. I am just kind of assuming 1 to 2 weeks based on what everyone else on here is saying under the other Nova thread. So if you had your interview 2 weeks ago have you heard back already?

I was told that the admission committee meets every five weeks so it depends on when you had your interview how soon you hear something from them

what did you guys say to the question--describe a time when you solved conflict? I can't really think of anything haha

Deleted. Sorry, didn't mean for this to be such a controversy.

oh wow how did you answer the entertain a child question?

There are a lot of options. I think I said a tossing game where you throw the cotton balls into the cup, a paper airplane contest and a few others.

A tossing game was the first thing that came to my mind, but then I thought about paper airplanes. As a 6 year old kid, I remember buying a book on how to make paper airplanes. It introduced different folding styles, some being more intricate. I would use things like paperclips to add weight to the front of the paper airplane to adjust flight characteristics. I think I may have used rubber bands to launch them farther. This for me, provided hours of good fun.

Im not trying to be rude but why would you give your competitors an advantage by providing the interview questions so soon. I assume that since you interviewed today, you have not been granted acceptance into the program. The personal interview is our last hope to impress them & you given others an unfair advantage. I also interviewed today and im hoping that the ppl interviewing on the 26th & 27th don't see your post. Maybe you should consider deleting your post until youve heard from the admissions board.

you created an account just to say that?? nice screen name by the way

Running to the admissions board to tattle on a forum? Wow how old are you??? I'm sure you're a real peach to work with.

Since your stats Suck(your own words) we would never have to work together because you probably will NEVER get into OT school!!!!

troll anyone?
I guess the truth hurts!!! No need for name calling....maybe cheating on the interview will help your pathetic grades!!! Wait did you even get an interview invite???? I'll be sure to post again when I receive my acceptance letter. Good day

Thank you so much for posting the questions.

Has anyone else had a skype interview with NOVA? I have seen in past posts that people have had phone interviews and interviews in person, but nobody has mentioned a skype interview. I guess I am a little confused and wondering if anyone else has gone through this?

Hi! I am interviewing for Nova's OTD program November 11! I had the option to Skype, but I'm going there in person. I'm living in Cleveland, Ohio now, and I've never been to Tampa. This is a program I would actually go to, so I want to see the campus and meet the faculty in person. If you look at the dates from these forums, a lot of them date back to 2011 - Skype must not have been an option
