NOVA Southeastern University Thoughts

Hello everyone. I am very interested in NOVA southeastern university and it's a top choice for me. I am wondering what the reputation/ prestige of NOVA is. According to their 2016 stats the avg DAT is 21 and gpa is 3.77 which is very high,yet i don't see many people saying its a top tier school and some online rankings put it very low which makes no sense. Could someone shine a light? It appears to be an awesome school and i would love to go there.

I bought the offical ADEA AADSAS book which tells you the stats for every school.

Well it's a fairly new school so it's not well established like some other programs yet. As time goes on and more alumni are produced by the school, it's overall reputation will go up. Strictly speaking from NOVA's stats (21 AA, 3.7 GPA), yes they are a more competitive school.

Expensive private school, well known in the state but I doubt people heard of it outside of FL. They def do like high numbers. Btw people just call it Nova, without all caps.

NSU (another way we call it) is a few years past 50 years old. The dental school doesn't have quite a history like all the other dental schools, but that's South Florida itself. It used to be a place where only old white people used to retire until the 80's.
So, if you want to make history, join us, if you wanna follow the rest, go to another one. If you're worried about finances (because when is dental school ever cheaper), it is ridiculous here. Like, Buzzfeed wrote an article about how grad students alone take out half a billion dollars in loans all together in one year.

I was there last November. When I interviewed there were students in the clinic working and it was defiantly a tight squeeze. I hope you're right and it has changed because that was defiantly not a good sim clinic compared to what I saw in other schools.

To be fair, OHSU and UOP just redid their facilities within the last 5 ish years.
