Hey guys!

I am having difficulty picking between these schools. After hearing back Dec. 1st, I have been contemplating every day over the schools. I will have to pay everything by myself and the overall costs are about the same (UPenn < Nova < Case). I have made a pro and con list, but adding up the marks gives me a tie. Right now, I want to withdraw my application from UPenn because I do not want to specialize or research. Nova has the best weather and location (should I even consider this?) and I have relatives living in FL. Case Western has a great clinical program and is the cheapest! Any ideas on how to make the decision???

Any sort of help would be highly appreciated! Thanks y'all!

Can you commute to NOVA to make it cheaper?

If not, how much less expensive is Case? I think tis probably negligible. I would just go to NOVA.

Unfortunately, I will not be able to commute to Nova!

4-year cost estimates (I calculated --may have errors):
Case: 400,036
Nova: 430,060
UPenn: 454,400

Well, I recommend Case or Nova for the lower tuition. I don't know a lot about Nova. Case's class size is smaller (75 vs 125 for Nova). Nova's definitely got the warmer weather. If visiting family is an issue, $30,000 can get you a lot of plane tickets if you attend Case. In the end there are a lot of things you can consider. It's up to you, chances are you'll have a great experience no matter where you go, and for whatever reasons you choose.

I'm choosing between Penn and NOVA as well, but I don't see how you're coming up with NOVA being more expensive than Penn.
62,850 x4= 251, 400 tuition
1050 x4= 4080 student fee
41,800 instruments
60,000 living (8k/yr dorms, you should be able to live off $15k/yr)
-------------------
$357,280 (under the impression we don't have to buy books)

Either way, the choice is really tough. I think I'm leaning towards NOVA because I don't love Philly, but at the same time it is a big opportunity.
Feel free to message me since we're in the (almost) same boat.

Hey there, congratulations again. If I were you I would also choose between Nova and Case - UPenn is just too expensive to be real. Good luck! 🙂

Messaged you with updated calculations!

I would go to Penn. What if you change your mind and want to specialize later?
Also, doesn't Penn have scholarships?

Also, the $400k for Case assumes 9-month budgets. So add extra for those months you are not factoring in!

What exactly were you using to calculate that? I got $409 from the acceptance email... which was just for 9 months.

I did not include books because the the D1/D2 said that they mainly use ppt to study, not books.
Message me privately and I will show you my excel sheet!
