I applied in early October and haven't heard anything from any of the schools I applied to.

I applied to:

USC, UoP, UNLV, Arizona, Tufts, VCU, Boston, NYU, and Columbia and i've called all of them which say that i'm still under review except for Columbia which says that they've revisted my app and will revisit it again...whatever that means.

This is getting frustrating why is this taking so long!?!? 😕

The applying in October thing might be why. Even after you press submit, it takes AADSAS a good long while to process all of your materials. It definitely sucks to have to wait so long, but I guess that's just part of the crappy process. I would say don't expect to hear from Columbia and UoP. I'm sure you still have a great shot and USC and NYU simply because those schools fill their classes kind of late, and I don't really know much about the other schools. Good luck!

Assuming there's a next time, apply in June.

GPA: 3.5 Sci: 3.1

DAT: AA: 20 TS: 20 PAT:20

I just dont see why i have to be revisted twice by Columbia or why its taking so long...what are they waiting for? Two days before classes begin?

Better stats than me, and I got into Tufts and USC. I also interviewed at UNLV. Unless your essay was really underwhelming, I can only guess that applying late truly was your downfall.

Revisted twice probably just means that they looked at your application, and you didn't make the first cut --> backburner. Looked at your application for second round --> backburner. Will look at it again for third round.

I too applied late (Nov) but hey look at it this way, the folks that applied in May didn't hear about acceptances for over 6 months and most didn't start hearing about interviews until about 3-4 months after they submitted. I figure the next week or two we will hear something (at least I'm hoping).

I guess at this point, you could call each school often (more than once) to express your interest. Just keep following up on your application and tell them how much you want to go to their school... that'll help.

And yeah, don't get held up on the Columbia thing. I bet that phrase "will get revisited" means nothing, something they just say as a smoke screen. At this point tho, you should start looking into building up your application to reapply on MAY 15th!!! (if it comes down to that). Rewrite your essay, take more science classes to get your sci gpa higher, continue shadowing.

There's your problem. At that point, many predents had already set up all of the interviews that they would attend. By the time schools got your app, they had already decided to accept many students, and they were probably more concerned with students that had already interviewed and that would be interviewing pre-Dec 1. Your DAT is good, but your gpa is nothing to write home about. In fact, your science gpa will most likely be a negative.

A 3.1 science gpa is not competitive at Columbia. I wouldn't hold my breath for them. Hope for USC, NYU, or Tufts. Also, October is very late to submit your application and almost certainly is why you haven't heard back from anyone yet. If you don't get in this year, make sure you submit in May or early June next year. Your DAT is good, but your science GPA is what might be killing your app, so submit early to get the best chance.

Wow...it doesn't seem like things are looking good

All the schools you listed gave me the cold shoulder with 3.7 GPA and a similar DAT 😱

woah..you have ALMOST exact same stats as me. 3.45 and 3.2science with a 19/20/21 on the DAT. I haven't heard ANYTHING either. I turned in my 2nd DAT score WAAAAY LATER than you did. I dont think they received till late Dec. I am ready to reapply next cycle already. I dont really care anymore at this point, since my top choice UOP is FULL.

I am not giving up all hope. I called Columbia and she said they have "quite a few seats left" and if they wanted to reject us they would have by now. We still have USC and NYU to hope for...

UoP is not full - my understanding is they have accepted enough applicants to fill the class - however, not everyone accepted goes there. I am interviewing for an alternate seat - and from other posts I have read - estimated I have ~ 30% - 50% chance of still getting in... its not over yet:xf:
