Hello,

So I am really stressed out right now. This NP that I am going to receive for a 1 unit Biosafety and Ethics class (an online class taken before doing research) has been on my mind while I am in the midst of studying for midterms. I just can't stop thinking about it and its caused me sleepless nights. 🙁 I am questioning and stressing out about how much med school adcoms will look at this. How much of a damaging effect will this have? How much do I have to do for them to overlook this NP in a 1 unit class? Would a 3.8 GPA do it? I am only a freshmen right now but this is making me worried about my future and if this NP could break it for me.
🙁

P.S. I was wondering if I could request a W . However, how hard is it to get a W if this was due more to forgetfulness and stress then medical or family matters?

I would appreciate all the answers I can get .

Thank you!

I doubt you are going to be granted a withdrawal due to forgetfulness.

But one NP isn't going to tank your chances for medical school assuming everything else on your app is on point. Learn from this mistake and just do well from here on out. You have a couple years to put together a solid app. Make it happen. Now go get some sleep!

Not to bash you or anything but how in the world did you NP a 1 credit hour ethics course? It almost seems like one of those classes you have to try on purpose to not pass.

NP is probably the equivalent of a D or F, so I assume that's what they'll see it as.
(Realistically, cognitive bias likely make a NP less dire than a F; that's something in your favor.)

But it's your first year. **** happens.
Relax and do better from now on.
