So It looks like i can't get my NRMP ID until Sept 15th, but I can submit ERAS starting Sept 5th? How does that work? Do I go back and update the NRMP ID later? Or is there a way to obtain the NRMP ID now?

You do not need your NRMP ID on your ERAS to submit. You should update your ERAS with your NRMP ID once you get it.

...and if you never put your NRMP ID into ERAS, no one will ever care.
