quick question, asking this for a friend, did anyone else get an email from nrmp saying you matched a 1 year position but got a soap eligible email?
It's because they're assuming you didn't match for an advanced residency spot (eg derm but you matched intern year).

Great, makes sense to me.
Its the new nrmp scramble and it takes place before match day so those poor souls can participate after they've hopefully found a program to go to.
It's an organized system that replaced the scramble. Essentially you re submit your ERAS application to the SOAP process. A lot more streamline then the mess that was the scramble.
