NRMP numbers on Match applicants

The NRMP posted on Twitter that they are at 25,000 applicants.

I looked at last year's totals and saw that they had 40,000 applicants with 34,000 having completed rank order lists at the end.

Are there really 15,000 more people out there *waiting* to apply to the Match?

Early registration lasts until Nov 30th, so yes, I bet there are plenty of people who still have not registered.

I just registered today - there really is no reason to do it early except to get it in before Nov 30 so you dont have to pay a higher price.

My guess is there are a fair amount of IMGs who are waiting to receive IVs before putting out more money.
