Does anybody know who I could contact to find out if they got my final transcript I mailed out? I've tried calling the admissions office several times and nobody picks up or calls back, as has been mentioned multiple times in this thread. I sent the transcript a while ago, so I am pretty sure it made it there, but I would just like to check and be sure. Thanks.
 
The only people who called me today want to know IF NOVA CALLED ME. Which Nova HAS NOT. Where is my SISTER; I need to PUNCH SOMEBODY. That is ALL.

Has anyone on the wait/alternate list for Nova heard anything yet? I haven't and i'm stating to get a little nervous...

NSU does not usually take people off the wait/alternate list until the interview process is over.
 
Well i submitted secondary about 1 day after i got it on nov 22. It's feb 3rd and no interview. I was told originally in 6 wks that i would hear if i get one. so 6 weeks pass by and Rachel wasn't answering so i talked to another person. Apparently they wanted my lor's but rachel weiner told me not to send them until i know if i get an interview or not. So i send them in and 3.5 more weeks pass by and no word. I call Rachel Weiner like 10 times and she finally answers. Tells me I need to wait two more weeks (which is when teh interview cycle is pretty much over) to know if I get one and if not then I won't be chosen this cycle. I hate this admissions office. There is probably a big red X on my app right now but they would rather prolong the inevitable. SMP here I come !!! lol
 
Does anyone have any suggestions to how to go about finding apartments/condos for rent around the NSU campus?? Is there a news paper that has such listings in it???

Any help would be really appreciated!!

The NSUCOM C/O 2012 has a guide as well as pictures for rentals. Through the page, you can find NSU links for other apt resources. For example, I think you can create a roommate profile through NSU and get matched. I'm not completely sure how it works, as I'm not a student.

i just logged on to the NSU website hoping to see something going on with my app, but instead it took me to a page where i could fill out the app...again! i tried to click through, but when i logged back in it said my app was created on feb 4, 2008!! did this happen to anyone else?? what's going on with the website?? does this mean...rejected?? 😕 are you all able to see your documents still?🙁

I cannot stress this enough, CALL THEM.

I hadn't heard a word from them (and I have decent stats and I'm instate) and so I called them last week...

The guy on the phone was really nice...asked me my scores, where else I'd interviewed and if I'd been accepted anywhere yet...

Then set me up with an interview for a week later.

I called my premed advisor and asked if this was normal, she said that's happened to a few students she knows of.

The moral of the story is :FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, CALL

totally agree. call and make sure!
i wasn't in the exact situation, but admissions must be crazy busy. reminding them doesn't hurt.
 
halloweenie...same thing happened to me yesterday. i thought maybe something was up with their website. i just tried calling, no answer. i'm going to call later today to see if i can get any sort of clue as to what's going on.

left 2 msgs. but i haven't had much luck in the past with them calling me back. i hope it's just a screw up with the website... 🙁
 
i've emailed several times and now called twice. does ANYONE work there? i can't believe they can be that busy to not get back to potential students...👎
 
Hey everyone..does anyone know when the interview cycle will end at NSU?? Also, does anyone have Rachel Weiner's phone number and email address?? thanks alot...

they're really backed up, I talked to rachel on Friday about it after the interview and she said they're really behind. I would suggest NOT calling/emailing her every two seconds. Try and contact this lady named Linda, she helped me confirm that my file was complete. Really nice lady.

emailed me back. all it said was that they have all my stuff... so that's good i guess. 🙁
 
I called this morning and received a call back within about an hour. They're just backed up....nothing to worry about.
 
I have been reading this thread for a while, I just found out that I was accepted today (02/05/08) and was wandering if anyone could give me direction on where to go for class of 2012 information. I am a little new to this and I posted something in another thread, that I thought was for class of 2012, but now I cannot find it. Any help would be much appreciated. Also is there any other UF guys/girls going to NSU. Best of luck everyone 🙂

Another UF grad here. Interviewed 1/18 and still nothing. I was told it might be a while. Pretty sure adcom meets today though, so hopefully we'll hear something soon.
 
just received an email this morning saying that they had received a letter that had arrived to the office (and was confirmed by the office as having arrived) last thursday. ugh. Hope I make it into the review for today...

Go gators, ah I mean sharks. I interviewed on 01/29/08 I was fortunate to get a call early, however, dont go looking for a cliff or a short rope if you interviewed before that and have not heard back yet they are extremely busy and im sure that they are just taking longer than usuall for some applicants due to missing materials or whatever. If you call them leave a message stating that you just wanted to make sure that all your stuff was in and that your application was ready to be reviewed. Best of luck everybody
 
Interviewed 1-22 and still no response...If someone got a response after being there a week after me...it seems like all hope is lost...

congrats, surprised you got a call so early! when were you called? I better start freaking out soon, interviewed on 2/1. Thought I would postpone freaking out for atleast another week 😉

hey, would you mind posting your stats so all of us waiters can compare and be even more nervous? 😉 were all of your materials in at the time of your interview? that's weird that you've been called weeks before everyone else....but nice job!
 
is nova done interviewing? man, going to florida for med school would have been really nice.
 
Nova is not done interviewing. They were interviewing applicants today.

As a general note:

I had to wait almost a month to hear from Nova. Waiting is hardest part.

Apparently, they are going to stop interviewing in Feb (woah).
 
There appears to be several GATORS going to NOVA awesome I can't wait to meet you all.

I did not want anyone to freak out, apparently that is what these boards do to people. If I may offer some advice, leave these boards unless there is a specific question that you need answered. As far as my stats go, I am afraid to post them as some may see them as an "I am doomed" post. My stats are good but I like to think that NOVA and most other schools look at more than just what you have done on paper. The biggest part of my application is indeed EC stuff and the fact that I did it all during pharmacy school.
PS Future Doctors be nice to your pharmacist they can really save your behind.

That is a flat out lie. The deadline for the supplementary application is March 15. There is no possible way they could be done interviewing in Feb.
 
actually i called several weeks ago and they said the same thing to me.

I think that the confusion is that just because they still accept applications until march 15 doesn't mean their class isn't going to be FULL by Feb. I was told at my interview that they were stopping interviews in Feb, where as last year the stop was later in the year. I get the feeling that that is not "set in stone". I'm not sure if this means there will just be a gap (while they assess how many will be matriculating) of if this means that "no applications will be considered.

I really loved the school and it freaks me out that my interview was so late in their process. Heck, my first interview wasn't even until the 1st week in January.



If you have a question, shoot them an e-mail and ask. Don't rely on second hand information and I CERTAINLY don't mean to discourage anyone from applying. I was just stating what I'd been told.
 
NSU-COM must love playing with people's hearts...today I got a letter from them...with Confidential written on it...turns out it's just an NSU ID # and PIN #...and it says don't confuse this with acceptance...These people are crafty...

So have you not been accepted yet? I just got placed on alternate list...I'd prefer to receive something with an id number, etc, on it. Strange.


Anyways, anyone else been waitlisted with me?
 
I got placed on the alternate list too really early in the cycle....and the waiting really sucks but I guess we'll just have to hold out and see what happens

I haven't heard anything from them in regards to acceptance, decline, or waitlisting. I interviewed on Jan. 22nd and have been waiting since then. They said my file was complete when I was there and that adcom was meeting the next day. They said I should have a response by the next week. I called Tuesday and left a message but have yet to hear anything. I'm OSS so I'm not sure if that's why they are taking so long or not. In any regards, I just want to know so I can stop sitting at these boards every 5 minutes to see if anyone else has heard from the school.
 
anyone have rachel weiner's phone number? any point in calling her to find out your status? interviewed 1/25.
 
I e-mailed Rachel today to confirm that the delay was due to admissions being busy and that it had nothing to do with an incomplete file or something like that. She promptly wrote back saying that the delay is normal due to the busy time or year and it was nothing to worry about. She also said, "we will try to let you know the decision within the next few weeks." Looks like it might be a while.

Hey Legend! Thanks for your post - good to see that im not the only one in this spot. I interviewed 01/22 - file complete and all - OOS also - and still eagerly awaiting a letter from NOVA. Keeping my fingers crossed. Im hoping to hear soon so I can cancel some upcoming interviews. Goodluck to you!!
 
I emailed Rachel about 12 hours ago with no response. I was just curious b/c i went online to check status of my app and the application isn't there anymore. Maybe in a few weeks she'll write me back.
