"No rejection from Temple yet, but I have already been rejected from Arizona and Case 👎 My application was sent in EARLY, around late May everything was in and sent. Out of the 13 schools I applied to I still have not heard from several of the schools regarding interviews. Not a good sign since I applied so early...I should have heard by now. These schools have more applicants than they know what to do with."

It sounds like Jacky Treehorn is still applying to pharmacy schools. Who is this guy? Is he credible? I'm confused

Yes, but if you look more closely, that post is in the Pre-Dental forum. My flag is still raised on this one...

Those posts were in regards to dental schools, not pharmacy.

Regardless of my other posts, stop trying to figure out who exactly I am, and what my affiliation is with NSU. Just take my post as an informative piece of info if you are planning on choosing between NSU and other pharmacy schools. I was just trying to help some people out make a better decision, that is all. As for my credibility, this is the internet, and I guess I can't expect very much of that. I mean, you don't have to believe me....and you don't have to take my word for it. It does not bother me at all, like i said I was just trying to kinda send a little warning out to people about the way this school is run.

I am, and have been affiliated with the pharmacy school in one way or the other, I just don't want to disclose how. So I am not pulling this stuff out of my ass.

Okay, guys, I realize that this post doesn't seem ligit, I have had a little experience with this. And since I don't know who roams on this board (faculty-wise), all that I am going to say is, don't be so quick to call a BS.

Thanks for the reality check. I don't understand what you were referring to re: not being so quick to call BS... Please clarify. 🙂 I do realize that all pharmacy programs likely have their faults (and some more so than others). A lot of students complain about certain aspects of their programs, but I just haven't seen a positive post from this person. That doesn't mean that there isn't a grain of truth in what he's saying. I honestly don't think it's very professional to post such things. If there are concerns, speak with someone with the ability to make improvements vs. blasting in a public forum. I just have my doubts...

Don't believe me? Call the Davie Fire Department and ask how many times they have been called out to NSU's health department in the past week for the aforementioned reasons. The Davie Fire department is pretty pissed off at NSU right now.

I saw this thread, and I had to post....

To the people who do not believe the OP, I can attest for pretty much everything he has mentioned about Nova.

Especially the evacuations and gas leaks....we don't know if we will be pulled of class at any minute. I don't feel safe sometimes even being here because of all the problems they seem to be having. For the past week, the fire department came like 3-4 times, and our classes were cut out for hours. The video conferencing is just horrible, and all of our teachers are from Puerto Rico or some **** - it is so annoying. I wish I would have gotten into other schools sometimes, but hopefully me and my classmates will get through this crap.

To the people who do not believe the OP, I can attest for pretty much everything he has mentioned about Nova.

I never believe on what Jack said. I have friends who have studied on Nova. There is nothing really happened. Nova is actually a very good school. I have traveled to Florida from 2 days before the interview. They have a very beautiful campus. People are very friendly . I think Jack is wasted of time on posting this topic to people. For those of you who have confused to whether what Jack said was real or not real, I can confirm that nothing is wrong with Nova.

This is just my two-cents, so feel free to ignore if you are not interested. I am from south Florida and have lived in the NSU vicinity for most of my life. I know a lot about NSU. I also have friends who are currently enrolled in other NSU graduate programs (not pharmacy, but other health professions, law, business, and psych). I have heard some news that can be construed at negative associated with the school, but I have mainly heard it in relation to other professions, not as much in pharmacy. Now, after saying that, I know that this school has experienced some negative publicity, but I also know that many other schools have also experienced negative publicity, as well. Here are a couple that have personal relevance to me. My non-Florida, but highly-respected, public undergraduate university was in the news for some shady admission policies that involved point systems relating to affirmative action, which occurred in both their undergraduate program and law school. This occurred a few years ago and there were law suits in conjunction with this in which the school lost, this might sound familiar to you. Another large respected institution that my bf currently attends for graduate school as a teacher's assistant (TA) took away another grad student's TA class and used that class to entice my bf to attend their institution as a TA. He was told this on his first day at the school from that grad student. What I am saying is that politics happen. Most schools are guilty of it and no school is perfect. I have heard complaints about many schools, even about UF from their own graduates: UF graduates who are not applying to UF's pharmacy school, but are applying to NSU. Everyone has their own opinions. Having said that, I applied to NSU and UF and would be happy at either school.

And in support of NSU to balance the negative comments posted in this thread, two sisters that I know applied to both NSU and UF for pharmacy. They were both accepted at both schools. They both choose NSU. If NSU was really that bad, don't you think the older sister would have advised her younger sister to choose UF? Probably, but she chose NSU. This is just my way of saying that every applicant does need to be informed, but make the decision for yourself. Good luck! 🙂

ps. I know a couple profs and students in the Pharmacy school and they are well respected and well published. I can't speak for the entire program, but I have taken classes taught by at least 3 members of their faculty, and they were excellent. I only know the academic side, so I can't speak to the labs and whatnot. The only problems I hear about consistently at NSU is parking, but that tends to be on the west side of campus and not HPD. We pretty much blame the law school. 😀
