NSUCOM interview but no DO letter!!

I have an interview at NSUCOM, but I cannot believe I didnt realize they needed a DO letter!! I thought it was only both LECOM's and I finally managed to find a DO (I havent really shadowed one specific DO, just randomly visited a few) to fill out the evaluation form (they said they wouldnt be able to write a letter). And I just saw the deadline for NSUCOM is March 1st!!! I didnt think theyd grant me an interview without the letter! Any suggestions on what to do?? How bad do you think it would be if I asked them if I could have the DO send in a copy of one of the LECOm evaluation forms they filled out? There is no way I am going to be able to get someone to actually write me a letter so soon!

During the interview, Delia Celestine will tell each individual what they need left to turn in for their file to be complete. In a sense, it is not a problem, but they cannot accept you without a DO letter...and this may mean more spots being filled up before they consider your file. I wouldn't recommend sending your LECOM evaluation if it says anything about LECOM or that you would fit in at LECOM. NSU doesn't necessarily require a "letter". On their website, they have a evaluation you can print out that the physician can fill out, if they cannot write a letter. Hope this helps and good luck NSUCOM is a great school!!

You seriously got an invite without a DO letter? So much for my theory on why I haven't heard from them. Anyway, in my experience, getting DO letter stinks. Why can't you just ask the person who did you lecom letter? All of the forms pretty much ask the same questions.

I was definately impressed by the school and the city. It is my top choice school as of now. I interviewed on 2/15 and AdCom meets on 2/22. Delia said she will mail out letters on 2/27.

the interview was pretty easy. I had dr. shamus, dr. gorman, and dr warhafdig (sp?). it was the first group interview i had (3 drs and me) but they just wanted to discuss things on my app. Hopefully i'll make it!

ooooooooh good luck! the anticipation!! I was freaking out waiting...but I'm sure you did great! Since you are an out of stater, if you have any questions about south florida, etc you can just PM me. I lived here almost all my life
