OK, so I interviewed at NSU 11/12, and during my interview, the interviewers emphasized that they are NOT part of the admissions committee and will only advocate for us after getting to know us in our interview. So I'm curious, does this mean that the interview doesn't play a large role in our acceptance? Does it work like....ok the admissions committee reviewed your statistics and saw that you are a qualified applicant and make a pre-decision, and then the interviewers either give a thumbs up or down? Or is it more along the line of a full integration of both the application and interview? I was just confused because no other school I interviewed at really stressed this point. I'm at a 3.3 gpa and 27 MCAT, florida resident. I had an awesome interview, so I hope it strengthens my chances.:luck::luck:

Hey! I was at the same interview as you. I am not sure how this works, exactly. I thought my interview was okay... but I didn't mention the osteopathic philosophy in my interview (it didn't seem to come up, maybe I should have brought it up) so I am a little worried. I am also a FL resident- 3.86 post-bac GPA, 3.6 Undergrad GPA and a 30 MCAT. I am so worried! I want to get in!!!

I wish I had the answer, I am curious to see what others say! Also, do they waitlist here or just accept or reject. I hate waitlists!

I didn't end up talking about Osteopathic medicine in my interview either and got in, so don't worry. Also your stats great for Nova, I'd be really surprised if you didn't get in.

Thanks!!!! I can't wait to hear from them. They said the first week of December- argh.

RELAX!!

The way the interviews are handled at Nova, the people interviewing you may not be on the admissions committee, but they DO make recommendations to the committee based on your interview and that caries a good bit of weight from my experience! Also, the people interviewing you come for various areas of the school and none of them may have even been DOs! If it didn't come up in the interview, and you weren't trying to dodge the question, then don't sweat it!

I'm sure you'll all do fine!

Nate.

Yeah don't sweat it... My nova interviewers didn't ask me why medicine or why DO either and I got in.

really? my interview was like 30 minutes long...they asked me anything and everything, from why medicine, to my ethnic history. But they werent trying to fish out anything bad, it seemed that they were really interested in what I had to say and just wanted to keep talking. I never know what to think after interviews...o well.

I submitted my secondary application to Nova last week, how long do you think it will be before I hear from them regarding an interview? That is, assuming, that they want to interview me 🙂
