I don't know how many of you wondered this but I did.

I just called NSUCOM the other day and asked about my deposit that I put in. I sent in the deposit a while ago and recieved nothing from the school. No confirmation or any letters of information. When I called I talked to Mary, I was informed that the earilest I would recive any information is in May, AFTER the 3rd deposit payment was made.

I dunno what I expected. Maybe a welcome letter, school information, or another financial aid packet. Anyway, my concerns were that my financial aid was taken care of and the ball was rolling as far as holding my spot. I just thought I would share this tidbit incase anyone else is out there wondering why they haven't heard from them like me.

(Is it like this at other schools?)

Thank you for posting this info. I have been wondering if they had forgotten about me! I paid a deposit at another school before I decided to go to NSU and the influx of mail from there was rediculus. So when I didn't hear ANYTHING from NSU after paying the deposit, I got worried.

It seems odd that they don't send you something, anything to let you know that they know you want to hold a spot. And they don't even seem to know when school is going to start next year, isn't that decided years in advanced? It makes me wonder if NSU has their **** together.

I did not hear anything from my school after I sent in the deposit either. I was not too worried about it cause I made sure they knew I was going to attend. I had to check with my bank to make sure the check was cleared. I guess they can only do so much and they probably have tons to do during the app season.

They are simply trying to conserve money. Inevitably some people are going to rescind their seats because they will be accepted to a school they would prefer to attend. You would certainly think they have their stuff together seeing as how they run their schools like a military camp with attendance and dress. Maybe their lack of communication is a sign of things to come once we attend. Forget them.

I had the same problem so I checked with my bank and also e-mailed Dr. Chaffin ([email protected])... he told me everything was good.

I put down a deposit at two other schools before I got my interview/ acceptance at NSU. I called them those two schools to find out what was happening, and they told me that I would get the follow up paper work eventually. I'm just waiting for the first deposit to NSU to go through before I decline from the other two spots. Umm, what's the most polite way of doing this? Writing a letter and having it documented or making a phone call?

I was looking into on campus housing. I called Housing today and found out that 2004-2005 housing contracts won't be out till early March. And I'm not even guaranteed a spot then. The only way I can get my $500 back is if I withdraw or if they don't have any room to accomodate me. So, now I'm seriously considering off campus....

Dr. Chaffin was pretty cool when I met him..even if he reminded me a lot of Mr. Rodgers.

As for on-campus versus off-campus? thats a no brainer for me. I need to be in my own apartment and I actually would like it a little further from campus. As much as I will be living at school most of my time there I when I am away...I want to be away.

Oh and as for letting schools that you have placed a deposit at know your not going to matriculate there. I would suggest a form letter so you can have it for your records and its professional. That way that school can offer those spots to others.

I sent my initial deposit in 2 months ago. I have heard nothing. I did call to make sure they got it.

Those liars!!!!! 😀

After I posted this and was verbaly told I wouldn't recieve mail....

what do I get in my mailbox today...

A letter telling me about my webstar account and a letter from finacial aid telling me somehow I didn't give them all their info....

I think this was sent cause I just filled out my FASFA this last week or so...otherwise I wouldn't have heard anything.

Ok...I'm putting my foot squarely in my mouth now.

Thdsfagfgfnks (thanks)
