Hey guys, I was wondering what school I should go to.

NSUKPCOM has a great location that I really love and I want to practice medicine in Florida eventually. The environment and campus seem really nice and Davie overall is a bright, sunny area with lots to do.

MSUCOM is a “better” school but Michigan as a state is just not appealing to me and most of the students match into MI residencies because they have a stronger bond with residencies in MI.

I’m torn on which one to go to. I recently learned MSUCOM is not true P/F and that there are tiers that will be shown to residencies.

Nova gets a bad rep but their match list from last year was pretty good. They do however seem a bit petty with things like making you dress professionally whenever you’re on campus, etc.

I am interested in anesthesia.

I come from a small town so I want to move to a warmer area with bigger city vibes, so I’m leaning towards Nova. Feels like I’ll be much happier there. However I am aware MSU is a very well connected school so I’m torn.

I’m out of state for both, so both would be pretty expensive. Which one should I commit to and why?

which one is cheaper? i hear MSUCOM has huge out of state tuition fees.

i encourage you to close your eyes, envision yourself both in michigan and in florida, and truly think about where you'd be happiest. thats important for a four year commitment to a location. based on what you've said here, it sounds like you'd feel happier at nova.

MSUCOM lowered its out of state tuition probably because it was a big turn off to prospective applicants. Tuition now averages $60,000 per year for out of state students. See this:
According to US News Tuition at Nova is $65,000 per year

There is absolutely no question that the cost of living in East Lansing is cheaper than South Florida's cost of living.

Here are the match data for MSUCOM

54% at MSU COM did not go into primary care.
