Nuclear Medicine Dead?

Is nuclear medicine dead? Worth going into this field now?

What I have heard about nuclear medicine is that it is mainly a field that radiologists go in to (as a subspecialty). I have heard that doing a nuclear medicine residency without doing radiology first is pretty much useless. I also heard that sometimes IMG's or FMG's will go in to nuclear med, not being able to find any other residency spot, but that then they end up without a job (b/c they only had nuclear med and no other "real" specialty). You might want to post a question about nuclear med on the radiology forum (? is there one) and see if any of them know something.
