Nucleophilic attack on Carbon dioxide

Hey guys, I just want to run this by you, if a grignard reagent attacks carbon dioxide, it adds to the carbon, and electron pair is sent to an oxygen, and then if we treat this with acid, that oxygen will be protonated forming a carboxylic acid. Is this correct?
