Hey just wondering if anyone knows why Tuft has around 4200 applicants but PENN only has 1700??

they both cost around the same and the 2 cities arnt THAT different. both programs are decent...not like 1 is significantly better than the other. Anyone have any ideas?

At my Penn interview, I was told that they had received just under 3K applications this year. 1700 is way too low of a figure. ... Even so, it's still clear that Tufts receives a lot more applications than Penn. There can be a number of reasons for this ... and it has nothing to do with the true quality of either institution (both ... as you mentioned ... are great schools). ... One of the biggest reasons might be that Tufts has a larger class size and is (sometimes) perceived to be easier to get into. Why, after all, do so few students apply to Harvard? ... Is it because Harvard isn't that great of a school, or is it because it's incredibly difficult to get into.
