Number of Programs to apply to?

Hi
Please tell me if its good to request your USMLE Transcript to apply to Programs.Do you think it'll be better if the Transcript accompanies the Application.
Also Please tell me what is the best and minimum recommended number of Programs to apply to if your scores are 91/99 with no USCE .

If you do not submit a USMLE transcript via the ECFMG office when you apply, you will not get any interviews IMHO.

Thus, you must have your scores transmitted to realistically be considered for a residency position.

As far as the number of programs, it depends on too many factors to say:

- the competitiveness of the field
- the competitiveness of the programs you apply to
- other factors in your application

It would be ridiculous for us to tell you you only need to apply to 10 programs or that you need to apply to 90. Bottom line: apply to as many as you can afford to to get a reasonable number of interviews (ie, at least 10, IMHO)
