Let's post the # of spots available for the # of applicants interviewed at specific programs if you know them (please specify # of clinical spots vs # of basic science spots).😀

Programs typically interview 10-12 candidates per spot. I went on a good number of interviews last year and this usually held true. Also keep in mind though they will often give one of those spots to a decent internal candidate.

UF Gainsville: 4 spots (3 clinical; 1 basic science); Interviewing 48 people

Mayo Scottsdale: 2 spots, usually 18-20 interviews
Banner Good Samaritan, AZ: 3 spots, 45 interviews
UC Irwine: 2 spots, 12 interviews
Brooklyn Med Center: interviewed for 4 spots (2 each for 2008 and 2009) and had called approximately 40 people
Cleveland Clinic Florida: Called 10 people for 1 spot

I heard NW is still reviewing applications, but will offer only 20 interviews for 3 spots...this is the best odds I have seen yet.

This was based on my last year's experience interviewing at UC Irwine (please see at the top of the post). I don't know what they are doing this year.

Per Ayakkaden: Univ of Missouri, Columbia. Interviewing 24 aplpicants for one 2008 and two 2009 positions.

Only an MS4, but heard from the GI program director secretary at UCSD that they're interviewing 20-24 for 1 clinical spot. Good luck everyone!!!

BIDMC interviewing 15 candidates for 3 spots available for 2009.
St. Luke- Roosevelt interviewing 20-30 [maybe more] for their one available spot for external applicants.
Yale-Bridgeport program interviewing 15 applicants for 1 spot.
