My dentist drilled to far when putting in a implant. I am numb and tingly on my lip and chin and the teeth on that lower right side feel extremely tight! Im in shock. Its like not being able to wake up from a bad dream. My Dr said this hasnt happened to him ever in 20 years. Just my luck. They say the feeling will return but im not so hopeful. It could be 1 month 6 months 1 year or never. Im scared to death. 2 questions.
1 The day after he had me come in for another CBCT scan to double check that the implant that he did eventually install wasnt violiating the nerve canal. From the scan it looks like is at 3mm above the nerve canal. He insured that implant is ok where it is and by removing it will not alleviate the problem im having with numbness. He said if the implant was still causing problems i would be having pain. Is is ok to leave it in? Im getting mixed views on that. It seems like common sense to remove any foreign matter untill the nerve heals wether its in the nerve canal or not. 2nd question- can the CBCT scan that i had the next day after the nerve was damaged hinder the repair of the nerve in any way because of the radiation?
Im so sorry if i sound paraniod but the thought of being like this the rest of my life is really scary!
Thanks
Mike
