NY Dental License requirement

Does the NY license requirement state the one year of residency has to be in NY? Or can it be anywhere?

I asked the same question to my dentist and he said it's anywhere.

You must complete an accredited residency program or AEGD in clinical dentistry. DA. oral path. OMF radiology, do not count for licensure in NYS.
