Just wondering if anyone could give me any information on any of the New York pedo residencies? i.e. Luthern medical center, Albert Einstein, Rochester

Any info would be appreciated.

Hi
You have an excellent resource at your own school to ask these questions. Maureen Romer recently left the Rose F Kennedy Center at Einstien (AECOM) to head up the Special Care Dentistry division at AZ. She is a wealth of info about the pedo programs at Jacobi and Montefiore (AECOM) as well as most of the other programs in the NYC area. Look her up. She is also a national leader and authority when it comes to special care dentistry, if you have any interest in that as well.

Romer is an excellent reference.

Stony Brook, on Long Island, is a new program with their first group of residents beginning in July. Not much to report with them, however the programs looks to be a good one, the clinic area is nice, and the faculty are dedicated to creating a great program. The program director at Stony has been director at programs previously, so it's not a new experience for her from that standpoint.

Pat Lewis is an old friend of mine, and an excellent program director. She is also a Q/A expert, which translates to her great attention to the details which make her program outstanding. Although new, I know she has a great deal of institutional support, so I am assuming the program will be first rate out of the box.

I agree. It has all the pieces to be an exceptional program.
