french fries = good
seeing as this is my first post, let me quickly shine myself before i ask a quick question. i graduated last spring from a prestigious private school as a physics major. i really didn't consider medicine as a career path until my senior year, when I had a great awakening of sorts. so, my last year, i took all premeds (other than physics) and really enjoyed them. now i'm getting close to deciding that being a physician is what i want to do with myself.
problem is, i really took my liberties my first couple years and ended up with a hurt-up gpa (~3). so now, i'm doing clinical research in a big hospital in chicago and taking upper level bio at a the local public university. i know i have an uphill battle in front of me, but i'm going to keep fighting the good fight and see what happens. i did dominate the mcats last summer, so i have that going for me....
i'm now seriously considering a masters in a hard science before applying to med school, since research is something that really interests me anyways. finally, my question: i was wondering if anyone has heard anything about masters programs in the new york city area?? i found NYMC and UMDNJ programs that seem OK (anyone know about these??), but i'm trying sniff out any other options.
any other questions/comments on my situation welcome as well.
quick shout out to wrigleyville, i represent southport and addison
thanks!!!
