what is this 2 out of 3 business? and why would there be talk of waitlist already for ppl who interviewed in january when nycom starts interviewing as late as it does (november, then december + holidays, etc).

It's past 3 weeks for this cohort, and if they said 3 - 4 weeks, let's pray we get it this week! good luck guys

I don't know about any of this waitlist crap but the 2/3 comes from the princeton review...that book says 2/3rds of those interviewed gets accepted, but then I also heard something about an 80-10-10 rate on here so who the hell knows! Our best bet is just to stop thinking about it (which is nearly impossible, I dreamt about it yet again tonight) and wait another week or so...

Ok, just checking up on my post here. Lets see what news I got. That whole little stunt one of you pulled, yea, not cool, lol, i was trying to do the math for a few mins and I scrolled down and was like this dude is gonna get it. Haha. K, so I am sitting in the NYCOM library as we speak, yes that is right, in the NYCOM library doing work, and I was also here yesterday and tried to control myself from going upstairs to the admissions office. I was ok for the first 2 hours, and then I just said f-this, and I went up. The women was like, ummm, no one has ever come in person to check on the status of their application, all I can tell you is that I haven't sent out acceptance letters in ages, and there is a whole pile of folders on that desk there that need to be reviewed, do that math. She also said, ppl always call me asking but no one tells me anything, so its hard to be informative. Basically, some of us still need to be reviewed. I have a gut feeling that Monday they will be going through our applications and deciding. Keep us posted everyone!

Dude ur getting a little sketchy, i think u should try and distance urself from NYCOM for sometime find something else to do...relax hang out with the friends go clubbing, see a movie or a musical, just relax everything takes time. Good Luck

hahaha, all of sdn thinks i am insane now. The reason I was at the NYCOM library is bc I am taking class at NYIT and the NYIT library closes at 5 on Fridays and weekends. But you are right, I might be becoming slightly OC, is that opportunity to persue air guitar still available?

Friendly reminder that those of you who interviewed on the 17th, today is your 4 week anniversary. My gut feeling is that the adcom met yesterday, but you never know. I step away from SDN for just a few hours and all this news!! Jeez!! Now I need to brace myself. Let's see, I figure if they go out today, Long Islanders will get it on Thursday? Which means I, living in south Jersey, might get it Friday or Saturday? Which is perfect bc I'm off of work on Friday so I can stalk my mailman 😉 AND i can go out and party if its good news. (well, if it's bad news I can go drown my sorrows)

I just called NYCOM and they told me that i was accepted. So if you can't wait for the snail mail just call them. The lady answering the phone was really nice, so give it a shot. See you on the island in August.

Valentine's day, 10:30am, flat out rejection from LECOM-FL. I call and they're like, yea, sorry, retake the mcat and more sciences. I was border line suicidal, 1:00pm, accepted into NYCOM class of 2010. Get psyched guys. I will post something in a few days about a saki-bomb night in the city - lets wait for ppl to get their letters first. Congrats to all.

yup she looked me up but said, well a decision has been made and you'll know by mail either today or tomorrow. haha i could try the hang up game but i dont think ill go that far. i need to chill out and get off of sdn for a bit =) ill know soon enough - if it's meant to be, then it's meant to be.

i called the office at like 4:45 without reading the sdn and some of the letters were being mailed out tomorrow. just hang on a few more days!

Don't sweat it. They told me the same and I got an acceptance about 4 days later. It sucks to not know right away like the others but you should be in good shape. I have not heard of anyone getting a rejection letter yet.

I feel like they are one of the schools that get so many applicants, so I'm not sure if this will help or not. Did any of you do that?? Did anyoen who turned in their app in November get accepted? I turned mine in late NOvemeber and I have not heard anything about an interview yet!! I have other interviews but I reallllyy wanna go to NYCOM. Should I be discouraged at this point? It seems like theyve already accepted much of their class.

I applied in october and got an interview for jan. After my interview I sent a thank you to my interviewer and one to the director of admissions/staff and also said in them that NYCOM is still my top choice and highlighted what I learned on the interview day that I really liked (but kept it short)...if NYCOM's where you see yourself I don't think it would hurt to send a letter of intent and I would do it

Also NYCOM interviews november-may so they're only in the middle of their interview season so I'm not too sure that they've accepted most of their class, just a bunch of SDNers
