I interviewed at NYCOM in early February, but I haven't heard anything from them yet. Has anyone heard from admissions office of NYCOM yet?

I interviewed there mid feb and i called them yesterday, the lady at the office said that adcom was meeting this week so theoretically we should hear by next week....though I think I'll call friday just to see if she'll tell me my status over the phone 🙂

if you call after the adcom meets to decide but BEFORE they mail your letter, they tell you over the phone. if the letters already in the mail, they won't tell you over the phone.
Good luck! :luck:

When I interview it took them about 3.5 weeks to send out the letter. Like NV said, some people they tell on the phone some they don't...it doesn't reflect their decision. The current theory is that they tell you after the committee met, but before they send out the letter. NYCOM of course denies this.

Today I got NYCOM letter in the mail! I am accepted!!!!! I am going to call west virginia to withdraw my acceptance !!!!!! I am so happy!!

NYCOM is definitely my top choice. I have one more interview with CCOM on March 21st, which I am still thinking if i should go.
I got waitlisted by my the state schools....so If i get accepted by the state school I might not go to NYCOM, but the major reason is because of their cheaper tuition.
I saw the stat for those who got accepted to NYCOM. They all have very nice stat. I remember the posted lowest MCAT score is 27.

Congratulations! If you decide on NYCOM definitively, let me know. We have formed a contact list on AIM and via email for all of us to get to know each other, meet future roommates, study groups, and friends, and meet for social outings before school starts. I would love to add you to the list, if you decide NYCOM is where you will be! Congratulations again 🙂!

Heyyy...I interviewed at NYCOM on February 8th and I just heard on Weds that I got in!!! I spoke to a friend of mine who was interviewed on the same day and he has spoken to the admissions people at NYCOM. You will definitely hear soon and hopefully I'll see you in class next year. All the best! I'm sure you'll post your acceptance soon!!

My post above applies to any accepted NYCOM students who will DEFINITELY join us next year. PM me if you want in 🙂!

You may have been in the group that interviewed the week the adcom met. Good luck.

I interviewed on Thursday the 9th of March. I recenlty asked a DO to send in a letter of recommendation for me to NYCOM, just as a supplemental. When called admissions the following Monday, to see if they would accept it and add it to my application, a woman from admission told me they sent out a letter to me on Friday. I was shocked and a little angry because in my opinion this means they made up their mind before I even got to the interview. I haven't recieved any word yet however, but do you guys/gals think that a letter being sent out so soon is a bad sign? I would have rather kept my 60 bucks.

So I got the letter from NYCOM, not really good news. They said the committee voted and I have been offered a spot at the med prep program. It is only a month long. The web site says those who complete the program successfully are accepted, but the letter says those who complete the program succcessfully are considered for acceptance for the 2006 fall year. What does that mean? Considered or in? Anyways thought maybe some of you guys can shed some light on this issue.

please call Rodika Zaika or Taryn Croot to discuss this. respectively they are the director of admissions and Assist Dir of Admiissions. The class of 2009 thread had good things to say of those in the medprep program.

You guys wouldn't believe this! I was interviewed in late Febuary and didn't hear back until late JUNE. 4 months later. And I got accepted.
