hello future NYCOMers,
i recently got accepted to NYCOM and I am now looking for housing. Did you receive something in the mail concerning housing options? I think someone mentioned something about finding info on the web or something but I didn't see anything. Anyway, I am looking for a roommate so if you need one, please email me ASAP! Also (last question i swear!) for anyone in the Old Westbury area--what are the more affordable neighborhoods around campus?
Thanks in advance for all the help, and you can email me at [email protected]

I just graduated from NYCOM.....
Best way to get info is 1) goto school and talk to student affairs.
2) If you have access to the web board you can get great info htere, and you can post messages that u r looking for a roomate.
Many of the students live in Glen Cove, its abotu 5-10 min away depending on how fast u drive.
-Also, if u go by school, see if you can make appointments to see local real-estate agents...I know of only 1 or 2 people who got luck this way, but who knows.....my beast advice is to start as early as possible
Good Luck and Congrats

I am looking for housing in the NYCOM area too! I know that that area of long island is kind of expensive; i found a roommate and i'm hoping to get a two bedroom for a decent amount of money but i'm clueless as to the more affordable areas near the school. I don't want to live too far cause i know the traffic can be crazy. Can anyone give me some advice on areas to look for, and where to look for a place. is there an apt complex somewhere in the area where other students live. I would prefer somewhere with other students nearby, thank you , dani

I too will be starting NYCOM this coming fall, and am planning going apartment hunting in the coming week. I called the NYCOM office to get some information on housing, and they gave me instructions on how to get access to the NYCOM message boards. There are a bunch of people looking for roomates there, so it'll be really helpful. 🙂
