Nycom Question
Started by IDFTIGER
Honestly, that totally depends on where you live. They seem to have different requirements for in-state and out-of-state applicants. It is a great school though. Good luck!

I actually have no idea but I am from NY my stats are 24R MCAT and about 3.7 overall and BCPM and I was accepted in Jan. No MD or DO letter, but plenty of healthcare experience and solid letters from professors. Hope that can put things in perspective a little for you. : )
I got in with 3.9 and 25 MCAT.
I think NYCOM considers more than just the scores. I have seen people getting in with 23.
But then again, I also see MCAT 29s and 27s. So, I am not sure about their criteria anymore.
I had a letter from a DO and volunteered in two hospitals for two summers.

I interviewed with a 23Q and a 3.2, but I withdrew after the interview because it cost too much money. I am in-state.
27P, 3.7/3.7 Research and some volunteering.
are you going to nycom this fall?

If I will not hear from AECOM than yes 🙂 I really loved that school. Last week I declined two MD schools' interview invites for it (out of state). I spoke to one of the MD general surgeons and she told me MD=DO and everything else is a bias. It is true though that its a little bit harder if you go for allo residency because u need to take double boards and stuff, but you know I was gone through worse, so I dont really care much I want to be happy those 4 years and I really think that NYCOM is a place where I will be happy + I live in Glen Cove 🙂 🙂 🙂
i have my interview tomorrow, and still need to fill out my secondary. it says to "list" activities, but did anyone describe them at all? the space they give you is pretty small, so i'm leaning just towards a list. what did everyone else do? thanks 🙂

I just listed them with dates and didn't attach any extra papers.
I don't really think it matters at this point.
I have a feeling that the secondary is just for the interviewer to look at your EC while interviewing. That's what my interviewer did and asked me questions from that secondary.
P.S. Taty, see you at NYCOM if you decide to attend next fall.
Good luck with AECOM.
