Hello future NYCOM students...I will be attending NYCOM, but I am moving from CA!!! I need to try to find a roomate and a place ASAP (I am shooting to be moved out there by the middle of May)...is anyone in the same situation as me? Do you know anyone that would be interested in a roomate? If so, write back!

I guess while we are on this thread I will add as well. I will be attending NYCOM this fall. I plan on moving the end of July. I am going to need a roomate also. I have two cats, so if there are any cat friendly people at there, or people that have a cat of thier own, maybe we can work something out. I am just putting it out there. Maybe we can get all of the NYCOM students looking for a roomate posting here. That would be of help.

Elaina- Although I do not have cats, I think I can handle it...I plan on being in NY from April 11-18 if you want to meet up. Also, if anyone else is looking for a roomate, please respond since I will only be in NY for 1 week. If there are any current NYCOM students reading this, do you have any suggesstions on where to live? Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Thats sounds great. I can't meet you on Friday April 12th. I don't have class that day. My cats are both declawed and they have short hair. Fixed also. If you want to meet on Friday April 12th let me know. It would have to be early in the day, I would have to be leaving NY by 3 pm. I have a major feild test that evening. Let me know if you want. If it works out, we can hire a realtor, and split the cost of the fee together. I don't mind paying the money early for the realtor. I already found a realtor in Old Westbury too. I spoke with him last week. His fee is reasonable.

I'm also from Cali. and will be attending NYCOM this fall. I'm going to look for apartments the first week of April, I also hope to have a place by May-June. Hey my friend is in the BSDO program at nyit. He will be attending nycom with me two falls from now. He has a house in garden city which is 10 minutes from campus. He will have apartments for rent if your interested.

i'm looking for a roommate as well...elaina, i'd love to room with you but i'm allergic to cats unfortunately.
so--i'm just looking for a nice, relatively cheap place that's close by and some cool roommates that are not neat freaks. (no offense to anyone, and don't worry--i do not trash apartments the minute i move in...i just don't get along too well with people who want to live in a sterile environment and who freak out if i leave my jacket on the couch or something.)

I was really blessed, I think the girl saw my ad on the web board and she contacted me regarding the apt. I didn't go through a realtor, I just went to New York and took my chances. There are a lot of available apartments on the web board 🙂

I am looking for a place near NYCOM that accepts pets. I would like a roommate, but I do have pets, more than some people like. I have 2 miniature poodles and 6 cats. If anyone is interested in rooming with me I'd be delighted. If not, I understand... 🙄

Hey guys,

If anyone is interested here is some information: I have a house in Smithtown, NY which is about 30 miles (east) away from school. With rush hour and traffic, it will probably take from 35-45min for commute. I haven't fully settled on prices for rooms yet but they will range from $450 (smaller room) to $550 (larger room). It is a fully furnished and newly renovated 3 bedroom ranch house, 2 bath, kitchen, living/dining room and finished basement. The area is really nice, shopping centers, park facility, and railroad all within reasonable walking distance. If anyone is interested they can email me at [email protected].
