I just read on the NYCOM web site, that they have you fill out their secondary application at the day of the interview..
Those of you who have interviewed with NYCOM, what was on their secondary??
Thanks

You are mailed the secondary with your interview offer so you should fill it out before getting to the interview. It's pretty simple and you won't pay a secondary fee unless you are offered an interview.

1. List all paid work experience:
2. List all volunteer work experiences:
3. List all research experience with dates:
4. List and describe your hobbies and recreational interests:
5. Indicate your extracurricular activities and the extent of your involvement:
6. List name and relationships of relatives in the Osteopathic profession:
7. How did you become interested in Osteopathic Medicine?
8. In the Space below discuss the reasons for applying to NYCOM: The space was not much on the 2ndry application and a post for class of 2010 applicants had some people just using the small space provided and some using an attached sheet. I used the small space on the secondary and listed 5 reasons in brief sentences.

I'll be damned... check out this link: http://iris.nyit.edu/nycom/Admissions_DO_Program.htm

(it states the following)
Supplementary Materials:
Please note that NYCOM does not mail supplemental applications.

At the time of interview applicants are required to complete a Supplemental Application form and to remit the required $60 NON-REFUNDABLE supplemental application fee.

Anyway, I greatly appreciate your input, if they mail it or give it to me when I go up there, Im sure it's going to be the same 🙂

how does NYCOM rank relative to the rest of the DO schools?

DO schools aren't ranked, most likely because the ranking system one usually refers to is based on research and DO schools aren't traditionally research-heavy.

That being said, you can check the SDN Rankings for medical school and get the SDN perspective on which schools are best. a lot of people like NYCOM for the rotations, location, and match. I'm sure Hunter-Gatherer can elaborate if need be.
