hey,

i was wondering if anybody heard back from NYCOM in the past 2 weeks...either placed on a waitlist or offered into the medprep program........

i can't believe no other waitlister made a post but me and socdoc (but i think he is just waiting to hear back so maybe he has some good news) b/c i know there are others waiting and hoping!
 
Hey, I was waitlisted.

What is the NYCOM waitlist like? In terms of rankings and such.

Also, is there anything I can do to make my chances of getting of the waitlist better?

From the NYCOM thread last year, it seemed like there was barely any movement in the waitlist...however, we have to take into consideration that there are others who don't post and just read. I have a friend who just finished his first year at NYCOM and he said he met students who received an acceptance 2 weeks before classes started. There's hope =)

I'm not sure if we're ranked or not. I usually read that we are not but who knows...

BTW, I made sure to send a letter of update.

Wishingstar, you mentioned May 15th - - is May 15th the day thgey start letting people off the waitlist?

May 15th is the day when allopathic applicants can only hold on to one acceptance or they risk losing all their acceptances.

So hopefully there's a trickle down effect and spots start opening up.

How does NYCOM contact people they want off the waitlist? They said there has been recent movement on it, but were not helpful in ANY other way.

That's exciting news. I hope it's by snail mail.

Just curious, did they tell you this over the phone? They never really tell me anything..
 
Curious....of you guys who are on the waitlist, are you out of state or in state?

Also, would you mind giving your stats? MCAT/GPA?

Wishingstar, you mentioned you got off the waitlist. Congrats =)

Just wondering, if you dont mind sharing, what was your MCAT score? Just wondering cos mine was in the average and I had wanted to know where I stand in terms of getting off the waitlist. Also, did you waitlist letter mentioned anything about being on the priority waitlist?

Dang, if you get an acceptance so close to start of classes, like a few weeks, how does that work with financial aid? Able to get everything straightened out and get refund money in time for classes to start???

I'm pretty sure I will be attending. I have already made all the arrangements for another school but since I live here in NY it's definitely tempting.
 
Hey I just got waitlisted to NYCOM for 2010. Does anyone know how many students got off the waitlist last year?
