Whats up fellow pre-pods?

Just some information about the program curriculum that I have gathered from another student who has gone through the program.

Refer to nycpm curriculum website to make comparisons: http://www.nycpm.edu/curriculum.asp

- Starts in Jan (obviously)
- In the Winter semester you take General Anatomy and Neuroscience
- In the Summer 2010 semester you take Infectious Diseases (2nd year course)
- When you start again in the fall you take all the classes the Sept. students take except for bacteriology which is taken in the proceeding term
- Spring 2011 semester does NOT include General Anatomy and Neuroscience bc you have already taken them!

January Program Curriculum vs. Sept. Program Curriculum

black = mutual btw programs
blue = only Jan program students
Red = only Sept program students

Winter 2010: General Anatomy & Neuroscience
Summer 2010: Infectious Diseases
Fall 2010: Biochem, Cell bio/Histo, Intro to Genetics, Medical ethics, Research Methods, Bacteriology
Spring 2011: Molecular Bio/Genetics, Physio, Bacteriology, General Anatomy, Neuroscience
Fall 2011: Immuno, Lower Extremity Anatomy, Pathology, Physical Assessment, Infectious Diseases
Spring 2012: same for both programs

studywithfury: Just want to clarify something...so if you apply this November in 2009, you can start podiatry school at NYCPM only a couple of months later?

Anyone know how selective NYCPM is with the january class?
Thanks!

not entirely sure but from what I have read, in older posts, the class size is not that big. I think I read somewhere that the class size was about 15 people but maybe thats only because not a lot of students apply for the January programs to begin with.
