Who will be my fellow classmates at NYCPM? I am so excited and I can't wait till this January. Anyone else planning on attending there? Any out-of-state students? Please share any information(s) that might help the class of 2011. God bless and take care 🙂

where are you from?

why nycpm?

what other schools did you compare to?

Hello,
I choose NYCPM b/c the school offers diversity and increased patient exposure at the FCNY (Foot Clinics of New York), which is visited by 40,000 patients annully. The school is also affiliated with 100th of hospitals nationwide, which will be helpful for residency placement.
I am more than excited to start my classes this January and get back into the academics curriculum of schooling.
Will you be attending NYCPM? Are you from NY City? I have never lived in NY. If you have any suggestion or information on housing in NYC, it will be greatly appreciated. God bless.

I suggest draper for a few months to meet people and then apartment hunt if you choose to.

you can get your money back for the remaining months as long as you let them know and move out by the 5th.

Craigslist.org and other apartment search sites are helpful for finding an apartment.

Just a general FYI FOR ALL PRE-POD students. Be very careful about patient volume numbers. Some schools boast very high patient numbers but unfortunately, the majority of patients turn out to be palliative care. When interviewing at perspective programs, ask current students about what type of patients they generally see and how they spend their clinical days. Good luck to all of you!

Thanks Krabmas for your information.
I submitted my application for the Draper Hall Dormitory, and I will be able to move-in on Dec. 29 (Friday). Have a great holiday.

Hey ZionPod;
Good to know you will be my classmate, and that you situated your housing early. I am looking forward to meeting you during the orientation on Jan. 2nd. I will be able to move into the Draper Hall/NYC on Dec. 29. Have a great holiday and see you soon.

Dear jonwill;
Thank you very much for your helpful information.
God bless and have a great holiday.

How is draper hall and what part of the city is it in? I'm considering staying there for NYCPM pre-matriculation summer program. One nice thing is they provide free bus/van service from the school to draper. Take care!

it is one room with a bed, desk, closet, sink, mirror, drawers, AC, light, and window. some have a view of the east river.

there is a communal bathroom and laundry on each floor and a study room and kitchen on each floor.

depending on the floor and floormates the cleanliness varies.

it is on 99th and 1st ave. - spanish harlem

haha is this about DMU? When I toured the clinic in August, there were 7 guys sitting in the break room and the only patient was being seen by a PA.
