NYCPM students not from the tri-state area

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I'm from CA, and planning on accepting my offer from NYCPM. From the interview, I was told that the majority of students are from around the area, but there are some from various states. I am wondering how some students adapted to the weather, subways, etc.?

I think it depends mostly on you. I'm from Minnesota and went to school in Iowa (furthest thing from NYC), and I spent a summer in Washington heights and I got the subway system down in like two weeks, and the climate wasn't all that terrible (it was one of the hottest summers ever though). There is ALWAYS stuff going on, and that might be more difficult to accustom yourself to than the subways

Google maps will be your best friend and mta.info posts which lines are down or delayed. As for weather, summer is humid and winter is cold.

hopstop hasn't been all that reliable for me. Their shortest route was 20 min longer than google maps suggested one. shrug
