NYIT-COM v LECOM v ARCOM

Hi guys,

So I recently received my acceptance to NYIT-COM at Arkansas. I have two other interviews lined up-- one at LECOM Elmira campus, and one at ARCOM. I am trying to decide whether or not to attend the other interviews. I really liked NYIT-COM because everyone was very welcoming there. Plus, I've heard good things from a friend of mine who already goes there. I think NYIT-COM is pass/fail? On the other hand, even though LECOM is significantly less tuition, I've heard students are a little unhappy there (+dress code). I don't know much about ARCOM to comment. I would appreciate if you guys could give your thoughts/inputs!

You should go to ARCOMs, I was super impressed with their faculty and devotion to their students when I interviewed.

I interviewed at LECOM-SH, so I can only say my experience from that campus, but I loved it and all the students seemed happy. The administration was helpful and seemed like they genuinely wanted their students to succeed, and wanted students who wanted to be at LECOM. Yes the dress code and food/water thing is stupid/frustrating, but it comes at a much lower cost for tuition. I would take everything on the internet about LECOM with a grain of salt and try to form your own impression. If I were you, I would go to the LECOM interview, it's one of the cheapest schools and you can get a feel for the school for yourself. (of course I am no expert, and am only going based on my interview experience)

Thanks for the advice guys! I recently interviewed at ARCOM-- everyone was really friendly and interview was pretty conversational. However, I'm not sure if I'll be recieving an acceptance. We'll see! I have my LECOM interview coming next month, so I'll be better able to compare the three schools. Will keep you posted!

Unfortunately, yes. Just because NYIT Arkansas is associated with a more established school. And I felt like I fit in better/felt more comfortable during my NYIT Arkansas interview. Might have just been because I was more prepared and it was in the afternoon so I had more energy, but I'm not completely sure.

Maybe I’ll see you there 😉 depends on what CUSOM tells me tomorrow

and if Not tomorrow my deposit is going down at nyit around 11/5 before the 11/10 deadline

Yay!! Potential classmate haha. Either way, I hope you get accepted to whichever school you're hoping to go to!

You too haha. CUSOM is just closer and really emphasizes the boards. But not a fan of the mandatory classes and non P/F, however I don’t mind seeing my classmates every single day 😉 and you can do whatever in lecture as long as you have headphones on and not a guest lecturer

Even though I really liked CUSOM, nyit just keeps coming back to mind. Honestly going to be a hard choice.
