Hi Guys,

Does anybody know much about the New York Medical College 6-year MD/Internal Medicine Residency program? How difficult is it to get in to once you are in NYMC? Is it only for people interested in Primary Care or is it also for specialists (i.e. people who want to do a fellowship in an internal-medicine -related sub-specialty after finishing their IM residency)?

yeah, i read about it on their website--it's pretty sweet, cept u have to do ur residency at their hospitals. And it's for internal medicine only--they REALLY stress primary care so i bet they would be ticked if u specialized afterward, but i doubt there's anything that legally binds u to not specialize....sounds like a good deal to me.

the caveat is if you work in primary care for 3 years after completing residency, they forgive your fourth year student loans. not bad
