Which airport is best to use when flying in to interview at NYMC? Does it matter? What's the best way to get from the airport to the school?

Thanks!

You could search for differing opinions on this.

But I used La Guardia. Southwest flew there (which is my frequent flier airline) and its a lot smaller and less busy than JFK.

I rented a car to get to NYMC and back, but you can also take a bus or taxi to Grand Central and take a train to North White Plains and then take a taxi to campus.

If you rent a car - don't use the dollar rental there, I am currently in litigation with them for some damage they're trying to stick on me that I didn't do. And wherever you rent - take pics of the car before hand. This is completely not worth fighting when they want to try to blame you.

I also used LGA. Renting a car, however, is totally unnecessary.

Directions to NYMC.

1. take the M60 bus from the LGA terminal to 125th street station in Harlem

2. take the metro north harlem line (blue) to white plains/no. white plains/valhalla, either one will work

3. taxi to school or student to pick you up if you're staying with one.

Total time is about 1.5-2 hours total, depending on traffic for the bus, and whether or not you're able to get an express train, total cost is about $10 each way to get to valhalla, plus the cab ride to the school.

Yeah if I hadn't flown in at like 10PM I was gonna take the train. But I didn't feeling like wandering around an area I didn't know that late at night.

yeah . . . harlem/125th st. is fairly sketch. can't say i blame you!

Of all the NYC airports, LGA is closest to NYMC. To get from NYMC to LGA, you could probably split the cost of a cab or airport shuttle with other interviewees.

roflcopter to the nearest lollerstation is my best advice.

you can also fly to/from HPN the white plains airport. its about a $11-$12 cab ride from the NYMC campus.

Hi! I am from Westchester, and NYMC is about 5 minutes away from me. I would try to fly into Westchester Airport, and then cab it to the school. If that is not an option, fly into LGA and you can then take a cab to grand central and take metro north (train) to north white plains, and then cab it to NYMC, OR you could fly into JFK, and take the shuttle to the city, and then hop onto Metro North from Grand Central. GOOD LUCK, and if you need the train schedules from Grand Central to North White Plains, follow the link below, and click on lines East of the Hudson:
