I went to to universities as an undergrad, one that uses the quarter system and one that uses the semester system. Am I right to assume that we should input our course units in terms of semester units?

You only have to do this if you are sending indivual letters and not a committe letter. I put down semester hours. Even though it looks weird (i.e. 2.7 hours for a class) I think they said semester hours.
