Speaking of NYMC, they can kiss my butt...just got an email from them telling me my bio advisor's LOR doesn't count as a science letter and that I need to get another one. On what time frame am I going to do that exactly? I'm going to call and chew their heads off tomorrow you just watch. Grrr!

How does a biology letter not count as science?? I'm confused, please explain since I sent them 2 biology letters.

I believe they require a letter from a science professor who taught a class you took. If you never took a class taught by your advisor, then it won't count as a science LOR. So your bio LOR's will count, but only if they are from prof's who taught one of your classes.

I'm recalling this off the top of my head, though, so I might be thinking about a different school. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

same thing happened to me.

the reason for me was i was using Sports Medicine as a bio class - my university puts it in the bio department but on AMCAS it's under public health....or something, i forget exactly what. so i called them back asking them to use my research professor's LOR as my bio one, and they agreed ( i got units, they were Pass/Fail units, but all they care is that you got units for it). and they didn't seem to care, i interviewed there. good luck🙂

heh, I'm an idiot. I already got an interview so I guess they accepted my bio letters.

the interview invite email says that you can use their online scheduler (on their status page) to schedule interviews, but i can't access that. Can anyone send me the link/instructions on how to do it???

I had the same issue--try calling them if you want to get an early slot. 👍

Does anyone know how long it takes NYMC to give out interviews once secondary is complete?

don't go to their interviews unless you live in ny... they're a ****ty school that's overpriced.

I received an invite about 2-3 weeks after I was "complete" there.

Good luck! :luck:

They took forever to get back to me, close to 2 months. So not to worry.
