NYMC, the worst Admissions office

You call them and that obnoxious guy makes you feel dumb. He acts like a hostess at a hot, new restaurant where everyone wants to get in. So, she acts like she's the hot ticket. THEN, sometimes you get this voice mail that says "the office will be closed from 10 am to 12 pm EST. Please call back after 12 PM. When you call back after 12 pm, a new message says "the office will be closed from 12 pm to 2 pm, please call back after 2 pm. When you call back after 2 pm, the message says, "the office is closed for the day. Please call back tomorrow."

I seriously want to withdraw my application. But, I guess they know students are all desperate. So, they can do this and get away with it.

Dont worry OP, if they were rude to you, they were rude to everybody else.

I've called each of my schools once at one time or the other. ALL other schools' reps are relatively pleasant if not just cordial. NYMC has been by far the worst. But, it's that one guy who's like that. But, what I don't understand is the outgoing messages I mentioned above. wtf? That's happened about 3 different days.

When I interviewed at NYMC, I thought the admissions staff were really nice! I haven't had to call them though, and I don't remember seeing any guys in the office, so it's probably just that one rude one.

They also don't like thank you cards after the interview, which blew my mind since that was my usual protocol.

Also they have received 12,000 applications this year (already). I think that is a ridiculous increase from last year. Perhaps they are trying to encourage you to withdraw.

Funny, I always get the same answering machine message when I have tried - except it will still be on many hours after 12pm EST. I guess nobody likes answering the phones there..
