Hi,

I have a few questions regarding NYS law if someone could help that'll be greatly appreciated.
1. Fax backs: My professor told me that fax backs are only allowed if adding refills with absolutely no change from the prescription. However, while working, I see changes in the fax backs all the time say quantity ect. Is this something pharmacies general disregard?

2.Receiving a fax to fax prescription. I'm not sure if its the wording in my notes but I'm a little confused. Fax to fax means MD office faxing an rx to the pharmacy rx, right?. He said this is ok with control and non controlled prescriptions and the law states that the rules is the same as an oral prescription for controls. So say you received a controlled prescription in the fax (for ex a 5 day CII), that means we would need a hard copy (physical ONYSrx), which needs to be identical within a time frame. So the fax copy is basically, the written version of a"telephone/verbal" order. This is my understanding of it, please correct me if i'm wrong.
