to NYS-licensed pharmacists in particular-

Per the NYS edu dept website, regarding the 45 credits/3 year period: "The 45 credits must include at least 3 credits (home study or live) on techniques to reduce medication and prescription errors."

My question is, when you log into the NABP CE monitor page, under "Topic Designators"- does the CE have to be designated as "Medication Errors" or something to that effect? I did several CE's on patient safety/ high-alert medications, and they are designated as "General Pharmacy Topics" or "Drug Therapy Related", or at best, "Patient Safety". How do you know for sure which CE's will count towards this specific requirement?

I use pharmacists letter to make sure I hit those specialty topics. They tell you which of their CEs meets each state's req.

Iowa requires 2 hours every 2 years. Look for H03 in the CE number; those are patient safety CEs.
