Hello everyone, I was wondering what kind of grades I'd have to get in my last year to keep my acceptance. My first term was strong, gpa there of about 3.7, but my 2nd term average may be more around 3.0. possibly with a couple 60s. Will that hurt me? What if one of the prereq courses ends up being a 60, will the fact that the rest of my avg. is high offset it?

If anyone has info, especially NYU students who went through the same thing in their last undergrad term, please let me know, thanks guys. 🙂

I wouldn't worry too much. Just be ready to explain the drop if they ask, which I highly doubt. Just don't go lower than you are now and don't think about slacking. You'll have to primed and ready come August for classes, trust me you'll need to be ready to work.

I'm slightly freaking out about a similar problem. I got my Hon.BA two years ago. I did relatively well in all my sciences and DAT. I was accepted at the end of May. I applied without English prereq., and did not indicate on my application that I was going to take any eng. courses. BUT I did my minor in Philosophy, which required tons and tons of reading -including all the classics such as Aristotle, Plato, Socrates, and stuff by Nietzsche and Wittgenstein- and tons and tons of writing - compositions after compositions. It's a little late to be taking any english classes. I am sending in my GRE writing score just for the heck of it. My major was in social science, so writing 40+page essay reports was second nature to me.

I sure hope I'm not gonna be rejected... 🙁

The acceptance letter says you need to get satisfactory GPA to maintain your conditional acceptance.

Generally, 'satisfactory' implies... a C or a 2.0 overall gpa.

So don't fret unless you are going below this, in which case you better think again... if you are motivated enough to do this.
