I got NYU's acceptance letter in the mail yesterday. It says something about needing a letter stating that you are matriculating and a deposit for $100 to hold your spot. Does that mean the letter is binding? What should I say in my letter because I want to keep my options open?

If you keep reading, it says that the deposit is refundable before May 15th and then something about should you decide not to attend, to inform them as soon as possible....which I translate to no, it's not binding.

"2. In order for you to enroll as a member of the entering class we require:
a) a letter stating that you are matriculating
b) a matriculation deposit of $100 which will be applied to your tuition and fees for the first year. The deposit is not refundable after May 15.
c) that your letter and matriculation deposit be received by us within 2 weeks of your acceptance. An offer of acceptance not secured within 2 weeks will be rescinded.
d) that a final transcript showing degree awarded (if any) be submitted by your college immediately upon completion of courses.
3. Please notify us promptly and in writing if you do not wish to attend NYU so that we can offer the place reserved for you to another applicant."

To those who were accepted: In the snail-mail that NYU sent, do you have to sign and return a form saying that you accept their offer of admission? Or do you have to write your own letter? Thanks.

Those of you that have recieved acceptances at NYU. When did you interview?
