on a more personal note, i completely suck. did not receive anything in the mail today, and will take that for what i believe it's worth: a big fat rejection from what i thought was my safety. no, i didn't even get an interview. yes, it's december and i only have one interview at a school, my state school, which will probably either waitlist or reject me. yes, my stats are above average and i'm not really sure why this is happening. does anyone have a gun to put me out of my misery? (for those of you who can't tell that i'm not serious, i'm not suicidal... at the moment. just venting more or less.)

I live on the East Coast (North Carolina), the mail dude is going to come at 5:30 eastern time. I'll see if I get it. If I get it....it's a tough decision between Case and NYU; my two top choices!

im in the same shoes, bro. my gpa is 3.55 and dats are 22/21/16. i dont think these stats are low, for nyu, atleast. i dont have any acceptances. people in canada have recieved their letters already, and im still waiting for mine. looks like a rejection straight off. 😡

and to top off the misery, some stupid virus hacked into ALL of my online accounts, including hotmail, university email...you name it. theyre all gone. damn, things are seriously looking bad for me.

Did you ask whether a desicion has been made or not for you ?

Did NYU send the letter to you ?

I think you are enough to get into the NYU.

Are you serious? Great... I should probably get the tissues now. I didn't get an interview either but I was hoping that they would at least keep me in the pool of applicants until the end.
 
i guess i am the only one that was told either way i'll hear something. they wouldn't tell me anything over the phone when i called on the 1st. so let's see if i actually receive something soon or not.

okay so one thing has been cleared that Canadians are receiving UPS express but what about US residents. Are you guys receiving UPS express also or is it USPS regular mail...please clarify.
 
hopefully mine will come tomorrow....

Revieved Acceptance today (Seattle, WA) came in the regular mail i believe.
 
p.s. there was a little brochure included in the envelope (maybe what amsie was talking about). No scholarship money for me🙁 At the interview they made it sound like only 2 people get a full ride unless you go through the military or something.
 
mailman finaaallly came, and nope, i got nothing. maybe tomorrow?
 
If I dont get anything in the mail this week, is that a rejection??

i loved the school...i want to go there, but that 80,000/year is hard to overlook.....

did anyone get a scholarship? does anyone know if they give out partial scholarships to a lot of people?? i forgot to ask them how many people they give them to...
 
got rejected from nyu. i don't think i've ever felt so hopeless and pathetic. it's over for me, although i haven't heard back from other schools... i feel like my road ends here.

How did you find out about the rejection? Don't worry! I know it's easy to lose hope after being rejected from NYU- maybe this will cheer you up:

1. I got rejected from my undergrad safety school and got into 2 Ivies (ultimately went to a non-ivy b/c they gave me 1/2 scholarship)

2. My dad got into an ivy league dental school with a 2.1 gpa and an F on his transcript (this was back in the 70's).

Just remember that you've done everything you can to get to this point- My point is that alot of the admissions determinations (D-school or otherwise) are SO subjective. If you get the wrong guy in a bad mood on the wrong day chances are he'll be nixing your app. before it even makes it to committee review.

I'm in LA- I'm so nervous and anxious to go home right now! Can't leave work for another hour. Then, of course, it's another hour to drive the 10 miles home in traffic🙂

no i didnt interview. i just received a letter. i also got rejected to meharry today. everything is kind of collapsing around me. i dont know what to do. im just so confused.

How many more school are you waiting to hear from? My back-up plan is to apply to the 5 or 6 remaining schools that I didn't already apply to that have an app. deadline past Dec 1 if I don't get into NYU. I could totally be out this cycle too.... and I'm 28! There's still time 🙂

w00t! accepted without interview. The acceptance letter is kind of janky. Black and white (looks xeroxed).
 
I got the mail this afternoon. (dec 2nd, Manhattern, interviewed in mid Oct)

It's a white envelope with a little brochure inside.
For those of you who haven't got acceptance,
good luck! NYU must be taking time because of a number of applications.
