Does anyone else out there have an interview at NYU for April 1st? I was so excited to recieve the invite last week because it seems so late in the cycle! Hope to see some of you there!

Sounds like if they are still having interviews in April (1, 4), they are really just trying to see as many applicants as possible and will choose the ones they feel are best qualified or round out their incoming class. SO...in my opinion its not a waste of time. good luck

i was meant to have my interview that day, but i called for a cancellation, and had it last friday! 🙂 👍

fruity...did you ask how full the class is?...and did you get in??...hope you did...good luck...

i guess i'm stupid to not ask how full the class is...but i figured...what's the point in knowing... got an interview...i will do the best i can...and even if there was 1 spot compared to 50 spots..it won't change the way i feel or perform.

i just had my interview 5 days ago...they haven't made a decision yet. i called on monday to see when i can call again...and they said they'd contact me through mail..
so does that mean i shouldn't call them agian? 😕

I had my interview in Dec and didn't hear back until Feb. Calling them didn't really help much, at least for me. In fact when I called them in Feb, I was told a letter was being sent to me, but they wouldn't tell me what the letter said. A friend of mine was applying to Med school and the same thing happened to her. When she finally received her letter, it was a rejection letter. I felt really dejected, thinking I was about to receive my rejection letter. To make matters wore, it took about two weeks before I finally got it in the mail. Well, luckily for me, it turned out to be an acceptance letter. 😀 I guess what I'm trying to say is be patient. You're already done with the worse part. Good things will happen to those who wait. 🙂

thanks AOM...i've read that ppl get acceptances as soon as a week...so i'm REALLY REALLY REALLY hoping to get something this friady...but after reading your post..i won't be AS heart broken if i don't get somthin in the mail on friday.

my sister (in NY) just got a new job...and i want to do dual celebration this weekend...hopefully.

and this will send my parents to the moon too! 😍

but if it doesn't happen this week...i'll try to be patient.

I'll be interviewing at NYU on 4/1 as well, starting at 8 am. I'm a very late applicant, having submitted by AADSAS in early January.

Oh, and my stats are mediocre:
Overall GPA: 3.0
Science GPA: 2.6
DAT: 22 aa, 19 sciences, 18 PAT

at my nyu interview... amy knowles said at the end of the tour "it is late in the game, expect to hear from us in the next two weeks" --> basically they will tell you whether you are accepted or waitlisted, i think

I just found out something from the dean today. In my class of 2007 about 34% of applicants to the school were accepted.

For the class of 2009 the admin is only going to accept 15% of applicants. I think this year there are about 2200 applicants or so.

I was there on 4/1, and it was a great experience. NYU seems like a great program with innovative technology. I am not sure if it is worth the price, but I am still praying for an acceptance. Also, the women are beautiful and NYU. They have the hottest dental students! There were only a couple hot girls and maybe two hot men in the group interviewing 4/1. Who on here was there and who are you? SPme of the kids in the group definitely didnt look the part of dentist, if you know what I mean. Not sure if that matters, but we do have to submit a picture. People in our tour group seemed pushy to be in the front on the group by the guide, and one guy kept disapearing...wonder who he was sucking up to??? lso, leaving my hotel this morning I got to see a real live drug deal complete with a gun! We were told that there are several spots left, and afterward I specifically asked, and found out that there are about 25 spots left. We will know in 2 weeks! I wish we had seen the lecture halls and class rooms, as well as their sweet "plastic" real human cadeavers. I want to know and actually see where we will spend our first two years. The place is a maze, but our tour guide was really really sweet, and I am dying to know if she has any say in acceptances. We had lunch, but we didnt really get to talk to any students fristhand, expect 2 D2s in passing....disappointing. I also found out that they value correct grammer, spelling, and writing skills during the acceptance process. What did everyone else think? Can't wait until the 15th when we recieve our letters!

how did u find out about thr grammer stuff....hhahaha so u're saying fobs/immigrants with bad english, but with 4.0s may not get accepted? hehhehe..

and how do u know u're gonna recieve a letter on the 15th? did she say 2 weeks, regardless of what letter it is - accept/wait/decline?

it usually doesn't take longer than a week
