NYU Class Info
Started by yeabuddy
I want to know this also.
Yeah, I heard something about block scheduling. I was curious how that works. Do you only take 1 science class at a time?
I'm a 2nd year at NYU...
We are in 3 different "sections". Everyone has basically the same class schedule but different lab schedules. The only time we have different class schedules is when we have seminars or conferences for certain courses, which splits us into much smaller group sizes.
For instance here is my schedule:
Monday I am 8-12, 3-5
Tuesday is 3-8:30
Wednesday is 3-8:30
Thursday is 12-5
Friday is 9-5 (only day with all lectures and no lab)
2nd year classes are generally 3-5pm on Mon-Thurs and 9-5 on Friday. The rest is mostly labs or pre-clinical stuff.
But they switch your lab schedule during the fall and the spring so it is more fair (for people who do/don't like morning or night lab you won't get stuck with it the whole year)
Hope that helps! 😀

- do they hold tests every week?
- do they provide us with the required textbooks or we have to buy ourselves?
- approximately when do students give their part 2?
- do they prepare us for wreb also or just for nerb?
- what about the extracuricular activities at the college?
I can only answer the question regarding books: no books, but rather vital source on labtop

Well vital source only runs on some form of computer-related technology. It's the coolest thing ever. You don't have to show up to class, since first of all the lectures are posted and secondly vital source has all the info you need. Besides you save thousands on books.
no inputs for other questions.................

If you are joining AP DDS program then I think you will receive specific answers in International Dental forum. I will try to answer some:
* I all through the second year (D2) exams are taken almost every week, sometime twice a week.
* Instead of 'physical books' NYUCD provided virtual books on DVD, (so you will be glue to computer more often)
* I understand most of the DDS AP students take their Part II NBDE in D3
* NYUCD train students to take both NERB & WREB (Both the exams are conducted at NYUCD)
* I have no clue, sorry.
Hope this helps.

Could somebody please tell me if NYU students have to carry laptop every day to school? I'm just thinking wich one i should buy so if i don't have to carry it with me most of the time i would rather buy a bigger one. And also do we have to buy PDA before classes start? Because somebody told me last year that they used to give pda's at school and it was included in the tuition.
Thank you.
Thank you.
