I wanted to know which loan NYUCD Class of 2008 are taking out?? Either the 1)Nellie/Sallie Mae or 2) Citibank?????? And Why?? I know I have recieved feedback about this before, but now as more and more students are recieving their Financial Aid Packages, I want to know their input. Thanks🙂

Let me suggest the ADEAL loan from Key. They have zero fees and its LIBOR + 2.65%. That tranlates to 3.47%, while the citiassist loan is WSJ Prime (4.0%) plus 0.25%.

However the Key loan does go up .40% at payback, although you can save 0.25% using auto debit. I went with Key. Check it out for yourself!

For anybody interested.. LIBOR stands for London Interbank Overnight Rate. Thats the rate (London) banks charge each other to borrow money overnight to meet their required reserves.

does anyone know the date that NYU expects us to be paid in full? I signed my promisory note for a stafford a few weeks back and I got a letter in the mail from citibank confirming the loan and saying the funds would be disbursed on august 25th which kind of made me nervous since that is after orientation starts. also, if we borrow money for living expenses, how are we supposed to get the money if the lenders disburse directly to the school? if anyone knows how the process works and could help me out that would be great. thanks!
