NYU- confused...

NYU cashed my check(application fee) as soon as it got there which was a month ago. I called NYU today and asked the status of my application. I believe most schools cash application fees when the file is complete and it is given to admission commitee. NYU said wait till september. Why did they cash my check a month ago ( which was may) ? i also wrote on my check that i am for 2005 cycle. confused.

Most the schools i applied to cashed my check as soon at it got there also. Do they already have your AADSAS application? I think once they have that and the check they will go ahead and cash it. That is just a guess though.

Be patient with NYU. They have a HUGE size of class and HUGE size of applicants. It takes them a lot longer to process your application than most other schools.
