I know they don't call. They send everything via snail mail. I don't know if they make it so you can receive the mail Dec 1st or a few days after.
 
im pretty sure they mail out acceptances, not call
 
The lady I spoke to said they might try an e-mail this year. But I am pretty sure mail in previous years.

The definitely send mail, but I think they TRY to time it to arrive December 1st. At the interview Dr. Mejia said that they might try emails this year (or even an email at 12:01 if they can figure out how to). Lol I don't want to get anyone's hopes up but she did say this 😉
 
I'm confused why they don't email, how hard is it to setup a mailing list?

Yes, that's who it was. Dr. Mejia. All the way back in September...I forget who said what haha. Let's all cross our fingers for an e-mail, it would make life much less complicated!

Pretty sure it's harder to print out a personalized acceptance letter/package and mail it to its 200+ accepted students than it is to email them.

I think it will be sent via email and snail mail from what I was told
 
Somebody should call and ask tommorow if and when they will be sending out an email... Shot not calling lol.... Btw if they do the emails, people who got waitlisted or rejected will also receive an email?
 
a friend of mine called yesterday. he was told an email would be sent
 
Anyone know if the email (if there is an email) is to be sent at Midnight or just sometime tomorrow? I'm dying here!!!! I need to know!!! 😱 lol

Also, I remember seeing a thread on here that listed all the schools and their method of notification. Now I can't find it. Guess I shoulda bookmarked it..... Anyone wanna send me the link? 😀

They said they'll send out both email and snail mail, and they'll send the email as early as they can, close to midnight. I'm guessing somewhere around midnight or midnight thirty.

check the acceptance threads. I received an e-mail at 12:02 EST saying an acceptance package is in the mail. I haven't heard if people who are on hold/waitlisted received an e-mail, but I don't think they did.

Keep in touch with admissions if you do get waitlisted. Find new ways to stand out in the crowd! Best of luck to you!

in the same boat man..really looking forward to attending NYU.
 
Just called NYU after waiting fruitlessly for their email.

1. They're still emailing out some acceptances today.
2. Rejections or waitlisting will be via snail mail, should arrive by the end of this week.

At least they are still emailing today. And I feel you man. I was waiting so desperately for that email last night. Hopefully it comes in today for the both of us :xf::xf:

thank gd for this thread. I thought that the only emails were yesterday night and that was it 🙁 i had no idea emails would still be sendin out today . Crossing fingers.
 
All the loan lenders are really licking their lips right about now! haha
 
ugh! i've been waiting since last night as well! i was so excited, but now i feel so sad =(

did they say they'll continue emailing just throughout today or this month?

I am not sure. Admissions after today is on a rolling basis so we should def hear by today for pre-dec interviews.
 
nothing is down i called them.

seems like no email today = no acceptance. wait for the snail mail to receive your waitlist or rejection notice. 🙁

i didnt ask because i didnt get an email. he said they cant provide decisions over the phone (so dont bother calling and asking about acceptances.) snail mail was sent either yesterday or today and should arrive by Saturday with a decision (acceptance, rejection or waitlist.)

My opinion is this: if you are waitlisted you will hear back by January.
Why? Because most people will drop NYU at the drop of a hat when they get accepted into their state schools.

i know what you mean, and im totally with you on that theory of students dropping them. I just know that if i dont get an email today, snail mail for me comes in either as a rejection or waitlist. Losing hope by the hour though.

yaa i hope others drop NYU for their first choice. i guess it's waiting for the mail for me too, but don't lose hope now! you'll need it the most after that letter! haha aahh
 
Anyone know how many seats are filled and how long they will be giving out interviews?
